The Ultimate Fruit Breakfast Shake

Yesterday I talked about The Smoothies Bible – an amazing collection of smoothie recipes from Pat Crocker. Today I am sharing my current favorite smoothie NOT from The Smoothies Bible. This recipe actually comes from The Funky Fresh Juice Book by Jason Vale (The Juice Master)! Just like The Ultimate Veggie Breakfast Shake, it requires the use of both a juicer and a blender, and trust me, it is worth the two-machine-hassle!

The Ultimate Fruit Breakfast Shake

  • 3 medium oranges, peeled
  • 1 lime, peeled
  • 1 Tbsp. muesli
  • 3 Tbsp. yogurt (I actually make it without the yogurt and just add in more muesli)
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1 cup your choice of berries
  • Small pinch of cinnamon (I also make it without the cinnamon)
  • Handful of ice if not using frozen fruit

Juice the oranges and lime. Place the juice and all other ingredients and blend for at least one minute or until completely smooth. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

The fresh citrus juice mixed with the berries makes such a tangy, yet sweet combination. I love the addition of muesli too, it makes it much more filling. Overall it is absolutely divine. I can’t get enough of this smoothie!
