Learning that peanut butter and I don’t get along anymore was like a dagger to the heart. If I was stuck on a desert island and could only bring one food item, it would be peanut butter. So naturally, finding a replacement to my beloved PB was hard!
I have tried several different peanut-free nut butters but MaraNatha’s Almond Butter is by far my favorite PB replacement. It has been the closest-peanut-butter-tasting nut butter that I have tried and is sweet, creamy (or crunchy!) and full of nuttiness. It is available in “roasted” or “raw” flavors, both of which I love.
It is a bit expensive for the size of the jar you get, around $8-10 here in Canada depending where you buy it, BUT it is worth it to get a product that my innards agree with and a more natural product (than processed Kraft PB) at that. If it is available, be sure to get the “Low Sodium” option. There is no need for all that extra sodium in our diet!
